Richter Estate Riesling and Riesling Classic

These two wines come without any single vineyard information. Richter Estate Riesling and Riesling Classic are designed as "calling card" wines to lead the way to the Prädikat-wines of higher sophistication.

Richter Estate Riesling is produced from Kabinett and Spätlese quality grapes, deliberately downgraded and vinified as simple fruity Qualitätswein (Qba) to guarantee consistency from one vintage to the next. We use grapes from replanted vineyards - less than 15 years of age - to make this wine. The younger vines don't root deep enough to have the full mineral content and complexity to show the different styles of the given terroir.

Riesling Classic however is produced from 40 years old vines. At that age vines produce grapes of great mineral expression, pre conditional to bottle rich dry style Rieslings. Like the Estate Riesling the Riesling Classic is vinified as straight forward Qualitätswein (Qba), though the natural sugar content at harvest would qualify the juice as a Prädikat wine.

Both wines are intended to give an easy access to Middle Mosel Riesling, be that fruity or dryish. They should please as aperitif or match lots of different everyday dishes. In line with the simple but tasty performance of those Estate wines bottles come with labels easy to read and with stelvin closures. - Enjoy!
